THE CO FOUNDER

Bellingham, WA

Hayden Eller - Guitar/Vox

Jake Barrow - Drums/Vox

Nikko Van Wyck - Bass

The Co Founder has slowly built an extremely loyal and dedicated fanbase over the past two years - due largely to the band's catchy songwriting and relentless touring schedule.

Wye, their highly anticipated full-length debut, was released this past September and is now available via all major music streaming/download outlets. Described by Do206 as “an album that combines driving indie-rock guitars with daydream vocals and warm arrangements”, “the group has drawn comparisons to dynamic-pop acts such as Manchester Orchestra, The Restorations, and Pinegrove” (New Noise Magazine).

Phd, their 7” vinyl follow-up, was released via LifeVest Records on February 9th.

The Co Founder: About

“...phd combines the anthemic arrangements of Manchester Orchestra, with lo-fi washed soundscapes reminiscent of The Radio Dept."

"Through their mindful melodies, focused delivery and charming, heartfelt lyricism, they’ve made their somewhat somber brand of indie rock accessible, lovable, and even fun. A delicate and dedicated piece of work, phd has us looking forward to The Co Founder’s inevitable next move."

Atwood Magazine

"I can see this track as rather accessible indie, in great thanks to the group’s clear attention to detail and well-developed cohesion — perhaps that has something to do with those 100 live shows? What is best here is the cheery, lived-in feel of their music. It all stands up to repeated listens (15+, at least, in the course of writing this), and sits in line with the overflow of love regularly sent to the group."

"Hayden Eller considered leaving his remote Washington state town, Bellingham, by joining the Peace Corps. He had a change of heart, instead opting for sticking around town and strumming his acoustic musings at local venues. In no time, people took notice. He flushed the project out to an indie-rock trio called Co-Founder. Eller’s emotionally raw contemplations gained potency with the backing of crunchy guitars and midtempo classic rock ‘n’ roll beats. Their last album, Wye, is the product of the trio’s collaboration as a band, and not just Eller as a songwriter."

“Bellingham trio The Co Founder spent time in various garages and living rooms recording ‘Wye,’ an album that combines driving indie-rock guitars with daydream vocals and warm arrangements.”

“Here’s a crunchy emo/indie-rock tune featuring complex instrumental interplay in the verses, leading into a chorus of churning drums and roiling guitars. Strong, emotive vocals layer on throughout.”

"Just south of the border in Bellingham, The Co Founder is bringing out some tunes that fit right into the PNW scene. Hayden Eller, Jake Barrow, and Luke Hogfoss have found their stride and found their niche. Their debut full-length album, Wye, is full of soft and sleepy tunes that rise up to pack a surprising punch, staying honest with a stripped-down feel.”

“Gaining a reputation for their relentless touring scheduling, the group has drawn comparisons to dynamic-pop acts such as Manchester Orchestra, The Restorations, and Pinegrove.”

"My favorite band in the Northwest is The Co Founder, it’s the thing I listen to the most."

"I remember the first song I heard from them was “Tonight” off of their latest album Wye.  After the first listen I was hooked.  I replayed 'Tonight' about 15 times before listening to the rest of the album."
